He married Elizabeth Sarah Ward, daughter of Daniel Ward and Ann Spencer, at St Mary at Lambeth in Lambeth, London, Middlesex, on 5 May 1808.1,6

He was named executor and beneficiary in the will of John Forsaith, his uncle, dated 13 October 1813 in London, Middlesex; he was to receive £200 and a watch chain, seals and trinkets, and all books and wearing apparel (linen and woollen), along with the residue of the estate (as shared with his co-executor).7

He was appointed executor of John Forsaith's estate in London, Middlesex, on 19 January 1816.7

He was listed in the 1841 census at Staindrop Northside in Staindrop, Durham, with his wife Elizabeth; he was a Dissenting Minister. Their ages were under-stated by 10 years, which is severe age rounding, even for the 1841 census. Their child Ann was listed with them.8
