Robert John MINNITT CMG was born in St Marylebone, London, Middlesex, on 2 April 1913.3,2

He arrived in San Francisco, San Francisco Co., California on 11 May 1941 on the President Coolidge having left Hong Kong on 2 Apr, occupation Civil Servant. He must have returned to Hong Kong shortly thereafter, as he was interned by the Japanese after their takeover of Hong Kong in Dec 1941.4,5

He married Peggy Christine SHARP, daughter of Eric William SHARP and Christine Martha LENFESTEY, at Stanley Civilian Internment Camp in Hong Kong on 1 June 1943.6,5

Robert and his wife Peggy arrived in Southampton on 12 May 1947 on the Strathmore from Hong Kong, heading for Guernsey.7

Robert and his wife Peggy left Southampton on 16 January 1948 on the Canton for Hong Kong.8

Robert and his wife Peggy arrived back in London on 8 August 1950 on the Carthage from Hong Kong.9

He was widowed at age 60 on the death of his wife Peggy on 30 July 1973.12,13

Robert's marriage to Primrose Keighley BALFOUR was registered between July 1975 and September 1975 in Sutton, Sussex. She had been previously married to Oliver Graham Hall (1903-1974), who on 28 Nov 1945 changed his name by Deed to Claude Graham MUNCASTER to avoid confusion with his father Oliver HALL RA, as both were artists; hence she is registered as Primrose MUNCASTER for this marriage; she was the daughter of Lord Riverdale and had two sons by her first marriage.14,15

He was widowed at age 87 on the death of his wife Primrose on 15 June 2000.16,17,18

Robert died on 26 August 2000 at St Richards Hospital in Chichester, Sussex, at age 87.19,14,20

His will was probated in Winchester on 18 April 2001.20
