He married Mary Smyth, daughter of John Smyth and Sarah Osment, at St Giles in Cripplegate, London, Middlesex, on 7 April 1801.3

James died in July 1805 in London, Middlesex, at age 24.4 He was buried on 24 July 1805 at the Bunhill Fields Dissenter's Cemetery.4

Sarah Smyth Poole was born in London, Middlesex, on 9 February 1804.2 and was baptised on 1 May 1804 at St Lukes Independent Tabernacle in Finsbury.2

She was named as a beneficiary of the will of Robert Forsaith, her step-father, dated 5 September 1817 at Wades Place, Mile End Row in Middlesex.3

Sarah was named executrix and beneficiary in the will of Mary Smyth, her mother, dated 23 February 1841 at 3 White Horse Lane, Stepney in London, Middlesex; she was to receive £230 plus 1/4 of the remainder of the estate (shared with her siblings) and half of her mother's household goods, furniture, plate, linen, china, wearing apparel, books, pictures and residue of her personal estate.4
The siblings Mary, John and Sarah were listed in the 1841 census at White Horse Lane, Mile End Old Town (Lower) in Tower Hamlets, Stepney, Middlesex, with their mother Mary Smyth. Sarah was a school mistress.5

Sarah Smyth Poole and John Smyth Forsaith were appointed executors of Mary Smyth's estate in England on 17 July 1844.4

She was named as a beneficiary of the will of John Smyth Forsaith, her half-brother, dated 16 October 1844 at 3 White Horse Lane, Stepney in London, Middlesex; all property was to be divided equally amongst the siblings.6

She was listed in the 1851 census as Head of Family at 3 Darnley Rd in Gravesend, Kent; her occupation was given as 'fund holder' and her step-sister Mary Smyth Forsaith was also present in the household.7

She was listed in the 1861 census as Head of Family at 2 Park Rd Cottages in Bromley, Kent; her occupation was given as 'fund holder' and her step-sister Mary Smyth Forsaith was also present in the household.8

Sarah died on 9 September 1862 at 2 Park Rd cottages in Bromley, Kent, at age 58.9

Her will was probated on 8 October 1862 with Mary Smyth Forsaith appointed executrix of effects less than £800.9

She was listed in the 1939 Register at 82 Silver St in Edmonton, Middlesex, with James Clarke; he was a retired insurance agent. Doris Ivy Maude Clarke, Hubert John Clarke, Eric Albert Clarke, Horace Alfred Clarke and Mary Elsie Letitia Clarke were listed as living at the same address.3

Maude's death was registered in December 1940 in Edmonton, Middlesex, at age 58.5
