He married Olive Lawry WATERHOUSE, daughter of John WATERHOUSE and Hephzibah LAWRY, in Chatswood, Sydney, New South Wales, in 1912.1

He enlisted in the Australian Army as a Chaplain (4th class) on 12 July 1915 at Australia and embarked on HMAT (A64) Demosthenes in Melbourne on the 16 July.5,3 He was on active duty with the Chaplain's Corp (Methodist), was promoted to Captain and served until his return to Australia on 31 January 1918.3

Riddiford died on 7 October 1964 in St Leonards, Sydney, New South Wales, at age 81.2,6

He married Margaret Stuart (Gretta) MACDONALD, daughter of Thomas Lachlan MACDONALD KCMG and Elsie Ann STUART, on 30 March 1957.

Fergus Robert Paris (Bob) OSBORNE arrived at Plymouth, Devon, on 11 November 1958, on board the 'Liberte' accompanied by his wife Margaret Stuart (Gretta) MACDONALD. He gave his occupation as 'advertising executive' for the Shell Petroleum Co.5

By 1968 the couple were back in Australia, living in Lane Cove, but returned to New Zealand by 1972, where they established an art dealership in Auckland, before retiring to Dunedin by 1978.6,7

Fergus died on 9 March 1982 at Parkside Hospital in Dunedin, Otago, at age 67.8,9 He was cremated in Dunedin on 11 March 1982, and his ashes were scattered the next day.10
