George Frederick AMOR was born in Upwey, Dorset, on 17 April 1846.2,3,4
The siblings George, John and Sarah were listed in the 1851 census in Upwey, Dorset, with their parents, Joseph AMOR and Mary WALTERS.2
He was listed as the grandson of Jethro WALTERS in the 1861 Census in Upwey, Dorset, and was a mason's labourer.5

He enlisted in the Royal Navy, as a Boy 2nd class (height 5' 2 1/2", hair red, eyes grey) assigned to HMS Colossus on 27 April 1861 at Portsmouth, Hampshire. He volunteered for 10 yrs continuous service on the 17 April 1864.3
He was listed as the nephew of William CORBIN in the 1871 Census at East Borough in Wimborne, Dorset, and was described as a seaman; a second entry in the Royal Navy census states he was an AB who was yet to join HMS Cambridge, and both of these entries fit with his marriage record.6

He married Jessie DUNSTAN, daughter of John DUNSTAN and Jane Rickard NANSCAWEN, at Register Office in Stoke Damerel, Devon, on 14 January 1872. George was a seaman on HMS Cambridge, and Jessie was resident at 36 Herbert St, Morice Town.1

George died on 26 July 1872 at age 26 from drowning after being swept overboard from HMS Peterel.4

Jessie Georgina Frances AMOR was born at 5 Herbert St, Morice Town in Plymouth, Devon, on 13 September 1872.1,2,3,4
She was listed as the step-daughter of William John MITCHELL in the 1881 Census at 4 Lennox Terrace in Portsea, Hampshire.2

William John Dunstan MITCHELL and Jessie Georgina Frances AMOR arrived at Sydney, New South Wales, on 12 March 1884 on board the 'Warwick' from Plymouth in the company of their parents William John MITCHELL and Jessie DUNSTAN.5

She married George Ernest DUCK, son of Thomas DUCK and Mary Ann SHEPHERD, at Methodist Episcopal Church, 57 Phillip St in Sydney, New South Wales, on 11 May 1897.1

They lived at 22 Grafton St in Goulburn, New South Wales, in 1936, George and his son Francis are both butchers; although Francis is still registered to this address, his recent bride is at a different address.6

She died on 5 January 1948 at Goulburn District Hospital in Goulburn, New South Wales, at age 75.7,8 She was buried in January 1948 at the Goulburn General Cemetery in Goulburn.

Joseph's marriage to Mary WALTERS, daughter of Jethro WALTERS and Jane HALL, was registered between April 1845 and June 1845 in Dorchester, Dorset.3,4
