She was widowed on the death of her husband Peter in 1918.

Harry Gardner was born in Brisbane, Queensland, on 28 September 1912. He was the son of William GARDNER and Gertrude Esther GEDDES.2,3
He enlisted in the Australian Army, Service No. QX4285 on 21 October 1939 at Brisbane, Queensland.3
He married Alicia Leslie Stewart, daughter of Allan Stewart and Jane Bain, at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Creek St in Brisbane, Queensland, on 6 March 1943.1 He was discharged on 20 July 1944 At the time he was a Sergeant with the 3rd Armored TPS Workshop.3
Harry died on 24 October 1948 in Queensland at age 36.4
