She was the daughter of Bryan Cecil HAGGITT and Catherine Isabella ROBERTSON, who were married on 18 Jul 1861 in Hobart at the church of St George. Her father was appointed JP in Dunedin on 25 Jul 1865 and was later a solicitor.1,2,3,4
She married Alexander Morris, son of Arthur William Morris and Janet (Jessie) Moodie, at St Paul's in Dunedin, Otago, on 23 September 1886. The wedding was preceded by a ball at the Haggitt residence and it is possible that the reception was then held at 'Wychwood.5,6,7,8'
She was widowed at age 55 on the death of her husband Alexander on 1 April 1918.5,9,10,11
Emily died on 17 August 1932 at of 27 Queens Drive in Dunedin, Otago, at age 69.9,12 She was cremated on 19 August 1932, and her ashes scattered.13
