Emily Fanny Wise was born in Singleton, Sussex, on 10 December 1825.1
She married Joshua Spencer, son of Thomas Spencer and Catherine Harrison, in Funtington, Sussex, on 18 May 1858.1,2
She was listed in the 1861 census in Knossington, Leicestershire, with her husband Joshua; he was a farmer of 180 acres, employing four labourers and a boy, with two house servants. Their children Marion and Harrison were listed as living with them.3
She was widowed at age 38 on the death of her husband Joshua on 1 May 1864.1,4
Emily died on 4 October 1909 in Midhurst, Sussex, at age 83.1,5

George Denis Wise1

George Denis Wise was born in Dunedin, Otago, on 12 May 1904.1,2
He was educated at Otago Boys High School, for whom he played rugby in the 1st XV (1920-21) before joining the Pirates club in Dunedin. He was a swift winger, standing 5' 10" and first played for Otago as a 19-year old in 1923. He had six games that year and another four in 1924.
He was chosen for the All Blacks 1925 tour of Australia, where he was an effective try scorer, topping the statistics with a total of 5 tries over the 7 games. There was a preliminary match against Wellington and a game on return against Wellington-Manawatu-Horowhenua as well as five games in Australia but no tests were played.
After the Australian tour he made another two appearances for Otago before transferring to North Otago (Kurow club) where he played two matches for that union in 1928.2
He married Alexa Oreti Stuart, daughter of George Stuart and Elsie Isabella Cumming, in New Zealand in 1929.3

Peter's birth was registered between July 1934 and September 1934 in Weymouth, Dorset.2
Peter's marriage to Elizabeth Muirhead Odhams, daughter of Geoffrey Charles Odhams and Nancy Muirhead Scott Fergusson, was registered between October 1956 and December 1956 in Newbury, Berkshire. He was a retired Sub-Lt in the Royal Navy and the engagement had been announced in the Times on 31 Aug 1956.1 He was awarded an MBE in the June 1993 Honours List as Senior Administration Officer to the Hong Kong Government Office, London.3
