Jeanie Donaldson McNabb was born in Lanarkshire circa 1891. She was the daughter of Alexander McNabb, cabinetmaker, and Sophia Hosburgh.1
She married Alexander Chalmers McColl, son of Hugh McColl and Marion Morrison Davies, at 40 Bridge St in Alexandria, Dunbartonshire, on 4 June 1915. He was a foreman rivetter and she was a shop assistant.1
She was listed in the 1921 census at Oakley St in Renton, Cardross, Dunbartonshire, with her husband Alexander; he was a rivetter at Napier & Miller, ship-builders and they were living in a 3-roomed house. The household also included Elizabeth Davies (18, typist) who would have been a relative of Alexander's mother. Their children Hugh and Alastair were listed as living with them.2
