William Alfred Robinson was born in Boughton Malherbe, Kent, in February 1830.^2,3 and was baptised on 21 February 1830 in Boughton Malherbe.⁴
He was listed in the 1841 census in Lenham, Kent, with his parents, James Robinson and Mary Kidney.¹
He was listed in the 1851 census in Lenham, Kent, in the household of his father James Robinson, as an agricultural labourer, like his father.³

He married Ellen Baker, daughter of Robert Baker and Elizabeth Moseley, at All Saints Church in Maidstone, Kent, on 6 May 1854.^5,6,7

William arrived at Moreton Bay, on 19 June 1858, on board the 'Ascendant' (509 tons), having left Plymouth on the 2nd of March accompanied by his wife Ellen Baker and children Friend William (Fred) and Henry. The records show William could neither read nor write, although Ellen could read; he also stated that a sister was living in Sydney.⁸

William died on 12 April 1917 at Kitchener St in Coorparoo, Brisbane, Queensland, at age 87 of senile debility, exhuastion and heart disease. The informant was his son William.^5,9,10,11 He was buried on 14 April 1917 at the Balmoral/Bulimba Cemetery, 441 Wynnum Rd in Morningside.^12,13

He served with the AIF, embarking on HMAT A63 Karoola on 12 Jun 1915 before eventually joining the 14th Field Artillery Brigade as a gunner (#6823); he returned to Australia on 21 March 1919.^4,5

Helen Chalmers Rodger was born at 419 Govan St in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, on 25 March 1873.^1,3,2

She married Alexander McGregor Ferguson, son of Alexander Fergusson and Elizabeth Stewart, at Millburn House, Townmill Rd in Dennistoun, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, on 25 November 1892.⁴

She was the informant of Ernest McGregor Ferguson's death at 10 Cork St in Camberwell, London, Surrey, on 14 August 1898.⁵
She was listed in the 1901 census at 114 Dunchatton St in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, in the household of her parents, James Rodger and Jane Alexander.⁶

She was listed in the 1911 census at 77 Willoughby St in Liverpool, Lancashire, with her husband Alexander; he was a meat salesman. Their children Alexander, James, Angus, Ernest, Ronald, Winifred and Dorothy were listed as living with them.⁷

She was listed in the 1921 census as Head of Family at 11 Bagot St in Toxteth Park, Liverpool, Lancashire; she said her relationship to Head of household was 'wife', but there is no sign of her husband. Her children Alexander, Winifred, Dorothy and John were listed as living with her, as was a married servant.⁸

She was widowed at age 60 on the death of her husband Alexander on 17 December 1933.⁹

She was listed in the 1939 Register at 11 Belvedere Rd in Wallasey, Cheshire. John Ferguson and Dorothy Rodger Ferguson were listed as living at the same address.¹⁰

Helen died on 26 January 1951 at 26 Seaview Ave in Wallasey, Cheshire, at age 77 of myocardial degeneration. The informant was her son Alexander, who used the name of A E Seymour FERGUSON.¹¹ She was cremated at the Landican Crematorium in Wirral.¹

James Rodger was born in Uddingston, Bothwell, Lanarkshire, on 18 May 1848. He was the son of James Rodger and Helen Chalmers.^2,3,4 He was baptised at Free Church in Bothwell, Stirlingshire, on 11 June 1848.⁴

He married Jane Alexander at 510 Gallowgate in Calton, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, on 25 February 1870. He was a compositor and his father (deceased) had been a brewery cellarman, while her father (also deceased), had been a mason.^1,3

He was listed in the 1901 census as Head of Family at 114 Dunchatton St in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, with his wife Jane; he was a printer's compositor. Their child Helen was listed as living with them, as were their grand-children Alexander Ewen Ferguson, James Rodger Ferguson, Angus Stewart Ferguson and Ernest Ferguson.²

She married William Paul, son of Thomas Paul and Ethel Elizabeth Watkins, in Merewether, New South Wales, in 1924.¹

He married Frances Joan Forrester, daughter of Edward Ellis Forrester and Ethel Dorothy Stevens, at St George Anglican in Montreal, Quebec, on 5 October 1929.^1,2

Katherine Hand Rogan was born at her residence, New North Rd in Auckland on 30 October 1888. She was the daughter of John ROGAN and Lucy TURNER; her registered name appears to be Catherine, but she substituted the C for K throughout her married life.^2,3

She married Martin Heywood Hampson, son of William Spencer Hampson and Emma Louisa Heywood, at All Souls Church in Devonport, Auckland, on 20 August 1912.¹

She was widowed at age 52 on the death of her husband Martin on 12 June 1941.^4,5,6

Katherine died on 19 October 1978 in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, at age 89.⁶ She was buried at the Rotorua Cemetery, Sala St in Rotorua.⁶

Edith Sylvia Rogers was born in England on 27 May 1915.¹

Edith's marriage to Cyril Louten Clarke, son of James Clarke and Maude Amelia Pope, was registered between April 1939 and June 1939 in Durham, Durham.^1,2

Edith's death was registered between July 2008 and September 2008 in Nth Somerset, Somerset.³
