Robert Clements was born in Stepney, London, Middlesex, on 9 January 1761. His father William was a gilder.¹ He was baptised on 11 January 1761 at Stepney, London, Middlesex.¹

He married Mary (---?---) in England circa 1798. This assumption is based on the children born to Robert and Mary and also baptised in the same place as Elizabeth Mary (Spitalfields Christ Church), being Joshiah Frederick (b.14 Mar 1800), Charlotte (b. 11 Oct 1801), Sarah (b. 12 Dec 1803), William (b. 14 Dec 1805), Squire Caleb (b. 11 Nov 1811) and Edmund (b. 25 Jun 1815).²

He was a witness for the prosecution at Benjamin Wolfe's trial at The Old Bailey on 2 December 1801for the theft, on 16 January, of a mahogany dressing-case, value 20 shillings from Robert's show-room. Due to the conflicting evidence, Wolfe was judged not guilty, and it appears Robert did not get the dressing-case returned.³

He signed a will dated 1837 in Hoxton, Middlesex.⁴

Robert's death was registered in January 1838 at Gt James St in Hoxton, East London, Middlesex.^5,6 He was buried on 4 January 1838 at the Bunhill Fields Dissenter's Cemetery.⁵

He married Elizabeth (---?---).¹

She married Robert Marshall in Lanchester, Durham, on 29 December 1811.²

He was listed in the 1921 census at 45 Park Ave in Gillingham, Kent, with his father Alfred (an auctioneer and surveyor), mother Amy, siblings Maurice (10), Derek (5), Sylvia (3 mths), Amy's mother Alice and two servants.⁴

Robert's marriage to Edith Mary Joan Barnard, daughter of Howard Clive Barnard and Edith Gwendoline Wish, was registered between July 1937 and September 1937 in Medway, Kent.¹

He was listed in the 1939 Register at 17 The Grove, Bearsted in Maidstone, Kent; he was a schoolmaster.³

Robert died on 11 May 1978 in Shamley Green, Surrey, at age 70.^5,6

His will was probated in Brighton on 27 July 1978 with effects of £61784.⁶

Alfred Clift-Matthews was born in Truro, Cornwall, on 29 June 1901.^2,3,4
He was listed in the 1921 census on HMS Emperor of India in Malta where he was serving as an Ordinary Seaman.⁵

He married Ruby Lillian Florence French, daughter of William George French and Lilian Mary Ann Eliza Goff, at Baptist Church, Weston Park, Hornsey in Wood Green, Middlesex, on 21 July 1951. She was a secretary and the divorced wife of Ernest Thomas Gill, although no mention is made of her second marriage to Francis O'Neill. He was a widower and a 'keeper' of the Chapel where they were married.^1,6,7

Alfred died on 27 May 1976 at The Bungalow, Grubbs Lane, Kentish Lane in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, at age 74 from carcinoma of the lung.^8,4

Ethel Lucy Cloete was born in Murree, Punjab, Bengal, on 9 August 1876. She was the daughter of Henry Newman Cunningham Cloete (1848-1932), a civil engineer and Mary Emily Read Cloete.^1,2 She was baptised in Murree, Punjab, Bengal, on 14 September 1876.¹

She married James Algernon Stevens, son of John Foster Stevens KCSI and Frances Louisa Jeremie, in Ranchi, Calcutta, Bengal, on 23 July 1901.³

She was widowed at age 58 on the death of her husband James on 11 December 1934.⁴

Ethel died on 6 May 1952 in Kitale, Trans Nzoia Distrct, at age 75.^2,5,6 She was buried on 7 May 1952 at the Kitale Cemetery, Cherangani Rd in Kitale.⁵

Her will was probated on 17 December 1952 with effects of £14783/0/5 in England.⁶

Norman Victor Clutterbuck was born in Queensland on 30 June 1897. He was the son of John Austin Clutterbuck and Mary Macnamara.²

He married Jessie Teresa Mitchell, daughter of William John Dunstan Mitchell and Georgina Mary Mulford, in Sydney, New South Wales, in 1929.¹

Margaret Fredrica (Peg) Cockburn was born in New Zealand on 12 September 1916. She was the daughter of William Reginald and Lilian Murdoch COCKBURN.^2,1,3

She married Graham Redver Williams, son of Arthur Henry Williams and Mary Baird Armstrong, in New Zealand in 1942.⁴

She was widowed at age 76 on the death of her husband Graham on 17 August 1993.^5,6,1

Margaret died on 12 June 2006 in Auckland at age 89.^7,1 She was buried at the St Andrews Church.¹

Charles Vernon Somers Cocks was born in Marylebone, London, Middlesex, on 1 June 1895.^1,2,3

He married Genifer Mary Butler Gaunt, daughter of Lancelot Gerald Gaunt and Anita Isabelle Fergusson, at St Peters Pimlico in Eaton Sq, London, Middlesex, on 19 March 1918. Charles was a Lieutenant in the Black Watch.^4,5

He was listed in the 1921 census as Head of Family at Boxmoor in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, with his wife Genifer; he was a Banking student at the Bank of Liverpool. The household included a Nurse and two other servants. Their child Katherine was listed as living with them.⁶

He was listed in the 1939 Register at 'Denshams', Holy St in Okehampton, Devon, with Genifer Mary Butler Gaunt; they were both ARP wardens and he was a retired bank manager. The household included a servant and a widow, Charlotte BRANWELL. Katherine Anita Cocks was listed as living at the same address.²

Charles died on 16 September 1977 in Newton Abbott, Devon, at age 82.^7,8

His will was probated in Bristol, Bristol, on 30 November 1977 with the estate value of £180,885.⁸
