Poul Ludvig Peter George Sylow was born in Karsär in 1860.1 He was naturalised on 14 October 1897 in Sydney, New South Wales.3

He signed the register at John Coleman Slade and Emma Selina (Lena) Macdonald's wedding at Presbyterian Church, Mosman in Sydney, New South Wales, on 2 January 1900.4

He married Charlotte Marion (Lottie) Macdonald, daughter of Robert Conder Macdonald and Emma Matthews, at Congregational Church, Summerhill in Sydney, New South Wales, on 15 October 1901.1

They lived at 'The Hollins', next to the Sugar Refinery, Fortitude Valley in Brisbane, Queensland, between 1913 and 1925, with Paul listed as 'manager.5'

Poul, as the father of the bride, attended Ruth Neleman Sylow and Nigel Lesley Foxton's wedding at Ann St Presbyterian Church in Brisbane, Queensland, on 14 September 1929.6,7,8

Poul died on 22 July 1936 in Queensland.9

Vaclav Tarantik was born in Hrdlorezy, Mlada Boleslav, on 27 April 1911.1,2,3

He married Elizabeth Goodwin, daughter of Richard Arthur Goodwin and Mary Scott Fergusson, at Registry Office in St Giles, Edinburgh, Midlothian, on 4 April 1942. He gave his occupation as a textile factory worker, but also stated he was a Sergeant, Air Gunner, in the RAF; she stated she was a hospital nurse.4

During WWII he served with the RAF (Vol Reserve) in 311 Squadron (Czech) initially as an air gunner, #787896, but promoted through LAC, Sgt, Flt Sgt to Warrant Oficer in Jul 1943. This was the only Czech bomber squadron in the RAF and flew Wellington medium bombers from 1940-43, then B24 Liberators in maritime patrol work.1,2

Vaclav died on 13 July 1944 at Bolt Head in Salcombe, Devon, at age 33 His Liberator V (BZ717) was recalled in bad weather and crashed, killing all eight crew members.1,2 He was buried on 19 July 1944 at the Plymouth (Weston Mill) Cemetery in Plymouth.1,2
