William Leonard Forsaith was born in Sydney, New South Wales, on 22 March 1926.1

He enlisted in the RAAF on 6 April 1944 at Sydney, New South Wales.1 He was discharged on 11 April 1946 At discharge he held the rank of Leading Aircraftman, RAAF (#162690), attached to the 81st Fighter Wing.1

He married Nancy Ellen Lillington in Ashfield, New South Wales, in 1948.2

William died on 21 April 2013 in Camden, Sydney, New South Wales, at age 87.3,4 His ashes were buried on 3 May 2013 at Woronora Cemetery and Crematorium, 121 Linden St in Sutherland.4

William Smyth Forsaith was born in St Leonards Shoreditch, Middlesex, on 23 October 1812.1,2,3 and was baptised on 14 March 1813 at Kings Weight House, Fish St Hill (Independent).3,4

He was named as a beneficiary of the will of Robert Forsaith, his father, dated 5 September 1817 at Wades Place, Mile End Row in Middlesex.5

He was named as a beneficiary of the will of Elizabeth Forsaith, his great-aunt, dated 1 June 1824 in New Sleaford, Lincolnshire; as his father Robert had pre-deceased, his share of the estate was to be divided equally amongst his children.6

William applied for a marriage licence to wed Clara Lydia Bolton Twynam at London, Middlesex, on 23 October 1837.7

He married Clara Lydia Bolton Twynam at St Anne's, Limehouse in Stepney, London, Middlesex, on 4 November 1837.1,8,9,10

He was named as a beneficiary of the will of Mary Smyth, his mother, dated 23 February 1841 at 3 White Horse Lane, Stepney in London, Middlesex; he was to receive 1/4 of the monies of the estate (shared with his siblings).11

He was listed in the 1841 census at 190 Shoreditch in St Leonards Shoreditch, Middlesex, with his wife Clara; he was a clerk. Their children Clara and Ada were listed with them.12

He was named executor and beneficiary in the will of John Smyth Forsaith, his brother, dated 16 October 1844 at 3 White Horse Lane, Stepney in London, Middlesex; all property was to be divided equally amongst the siblings.13

He was appointed administrator of John Smyth Forsaith's estate in London, Middlesex, on 20 February 1845.13

He was listed in the 1851 census as Head of Family at 186 High St in St Leonards Shoreditch, London, Middlesex, with his wife Clara; he was a banker. Their children William, Alfred, Ellen and Mary were listed as living with them.2

He signed a will dated 27 June 1853 in Cornwall, leaving all household furniture, books, plate, linen, pictures and all money under the value of £10 in the house at his decease, to his wife. She was also to inherit his half share in the profits of the business he carried on with John VIVIAN (under the name of Vivian Forsaith & Company) for the remainder of the term of the partnership together with all the money invested in the business. His wife and cousin Robert, as executors, were to receive ten guineas each for their troubles, and the remainder of his estate was to go to his wife in trust, to then flow equally to their children on her death, after they had attained the age of 21.14

William died on 18 July 1853 at Gwinear in Camborne, Cornwall, at age 40 of consumption.1,15,16 He was buried on 23 July 1853 at the Gwinear.17

His will was probated in London, Middlesex, on 10 October 1853 with Robert Forsaith and Clara Lydia Bolton Twynam appointed administrators.14

He was apprenticed to his father (along with his brother John) and the company name was changed to J S Forsaith & Sons in 1872 when William was made a partner. John was trained as a letterpress printer and William as a Lithographic printer. He jointly succeeded to the Forsaith printing business on his father's retirement in 1874, when the company became Forsaith Brothers.7

He married Sarah Dobson in Nth Aylesford, Kent, on 24 November 1870.1,8

He was listed in the 1871 census as Head of Family at 10 Abbey St in Bethnal Green, Hackney, Middlesex, with his wife Sarah; he was a printer.9

He was listed in the 1881 census as Head of Family at 35 Southborough Rd in Hackney, London, Middlesex, with his wife Sarah; he was a Master Printer. Their children Valentine, Alfred, William and Thomas were listed as living with them.3

John Stokes Forsaith and William Valentine Forsaith were appointed executors of John Smyth Forsaith's estate in London on 10 October 1883.10

William died on 29 June 1889 at 35 Southborough Rd in Hackney, London, Middlesex, at age 41; he had sustained crush injuries 9 months earlier when a platen machine fell as it was being hoisted out to the street in order to be taken to a local exhibition to demonstrate letterpress printing.1,11,12,7

Frances died on 5 July 1985 in Chichester, Sussex, at age 75.7,8
