Charles Herbert Perrins1,2
(1878 - 1909)
Charles's birth was registered between April 1878 and June 1878 in Kings Norton, Worcestershire.2
He left Southampton for Port Elizabeth (Algoa Bay), Sth Africa on the Walmer Castle on 12 December 1903 and returned to Southampton on the Saxon, arriving on 20 May 1905, accompanied by his father George Richard Perrins.3,4
It appears the PERRINS family had business interests in South Africa and the Sth African Archives contain a number of documents relating to mortgages and subsequent financial claims against family members. The illiquidity claims appear to be mainly against a Charles Henry PERRINS and involve a salt-petre mining company; it is unclear if Charles Hubert PERRINS is the same man, and/or whether he had an interest in the business, but the Sth African records also include his death notice (1909) and Liquidation & Distribution Accounts (1910).5
Charles's marriage to Ellen Monica Rees, daughter of William Davison Wood Rees and Ellen Forsaith, was registered between July 1905 and September 1905 in Pocklington, East Riding, Yorkshire.1
He and his wife Ellen left Southampton on 1 December 1906 on the Briton for Port Elizabeth, Sth Africa, accompanied by their child Charles along with Louisa Moore Rees.3
He and his wife Ellen arrived back in Southampton on 3 August 1907 from Sth Africa on the Kildonan Castle, accompanied by their child Charles along with Louisa Moore Rees.4
Charles's death was registered between April 1909 and June 1909 in Pocklington, East Riding, Yorkshire.6
