He married Bessy Collins, daughter of Henry Collins and Margaret Stevenson, at Registrar's Office in Sth Brisbane, Queensland, on 3 March 1896. Albert claimed to be 33, though actually he was only 31 and Bessy was probably about 25, not 23 as claimed.3
Albert died on 17 January 1938 in Brisbane, Queensland, at age 73.4
