William's birth was registered between July 1889 and September 1889 in Lambeth, London, Middlesex.2
William's marriage to Gladys Emily Elizabeth Goff, daughter of Henry Goff and Mary Ann Snow, was registered between April 1911 and June 1911 in West Ham, Essex.1
He served with the 10th Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps (#R/35074) as a rifleman during WWI.3
William died on 24 October 1918 in Germany.3 He was buried in 1918 at the Ohlsdorf Cemetery in Hamburg. As a number of servicemen were brought from other sites to this cemetery, it is possible he was a prisoner of war and died at Schleswig-Holstein before being moved to this cemetery he dies originally at.4
