She was listed in the 1921 census at 1052 Dumbarton Rd in Partick, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, with her husband James; he was a cattleman (on his own account).¹⁰

Mary died on 31 May 1930 at 1052 Dumbarton Rd in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, at age 76 of senility, influenza and cardiac failure. The informant was her husband James.¹¹

Matthew Hood Adam was born in Coatbridge, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire, on 1 April 1853.^1,2 and was baptised on 23 April 1853 at Dunbeth Relief Church in Coatbridge.²

Matthew died on 1 October 1909 in Carlton, Melbourne, Victoria, at age 56.^3,4,5 He was buried on 2 October 1909 at the Boroondara General Cemetery, High St in Kew.⁶

His estate was confirmed in Edinburgh, Midlothian, on 29 April 1910 with the Scottish component valued at £282/11/3.⁵

Robert Adam was possibly born in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, in July 1753.² He was baptised in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire, on 29 July 1753; we have assumed this is Robert, even though the child was unnamed. However some published trees claim this was a stillborn child (hence unnamed) and that Robert was born in 1757 - but there is no evidence found for that date.^3,2

He married Elizabeth Anderson in Scotland.¹
