Flora Macdonald was born at Oxford St in Lyttelton, Canterbury, on 27 December 1882.^1,2,3

She married Alexander Gordon Macdonald, son of Thomas Morell Macdonald and Charlotte Clements Forsaith, in the Federation of Malay States in 1913.⁴

She was widowed at age 76 on the death of her husband Alexander on 29 August 1959.^1,5,6

Flora died on 16 November 1964 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, at age 81.¹

Francis Baldwin (Frank) Macdonald was born in Invercargill, Southland, on 28 December 1871.¹

He married Elsie Hope in New Zealand in 1906. It is believed there was no issue from this marrriage; it is also unclear how they met and whether the HOPE family had migrated to New Zealand from Tasmania.^2,3

Francis died on 28 August 1915 in Bluff, Southland, at age 43 having been found dead in his office (he was a fish merchant) on that Saturday night. Although he was found with a double-barrelled gun beside him, the inquest returned a verdict of accidental death.^4,5 He was buried on 30 August 1915 at the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery in Invercargill.⁶

Gordon Noel Macdonald was born in Invercargill, Southland, on 4 December 1909.¹

He was a groomsman at Morris Morell Macdonald and Ivall Moira (Mollie) Hansen's wedding at St Marks Church in Opawa, Christchurch, Canterbury, on 20 October 1934.^2,3

Gordon was a Civil Engineer and moved from New Zealand to Australia in 1937. He later had a position in Fiji.⁴

He married Sheelah Rosaleen McNamara in Sydney, New South Wales, on 9 March 1940.

Gordon died on 3 December 1994 in Melbourne, Victoria, at age 84 of a coronary after hospitalisation for respiratory problems. He was buried on 6 December 1994.

Herbert Alexander Macdonald was born in Invercargill, Southland, on 6 July 1868.

He was admitted to the Bar in Invercargill on 13 Aug 1889 and made a partner in his father's business on 14 Nov 1892.¹

Thomas Forsaith Macdonald, Herbert Alexander Macdonald and Arnold Morell (Dick) Macdonald were appointed executors of Thomas Morell Macdonald's estate in Invercargill on 30 April 1909.⁵

Family folklore claims he was blamed for embezzling money from the company, but really took the blame to protect someone else. What actually happened is unclear, but he did declare bankruptcy in 1916.⁸

Herbert died on 20 April 1937 in Te Aroha at age 68.⁹

He and his wife Marna left Southampton on 7 May 1940 on the Pennland for New York, presumably the first leg of their journey to Australia.³

Hugh died on 14 June 1967 at Fulham Hospital in Hammersnith, London, Middlesex, at age 59.⁴
