She was listed in the 1921 census at 34 Emporer's Gate in Kensington, London, Middlesex, with her husband Arthur; he was listed as a Colonel in the Royal Engineers. He was also listed under the Armed Forces (Overseas) section of the census under the CRE Office, Victoria Barracks, Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Ireland as a Lt-Col in the Royal Engineers. Precisely which location he was actually present at is unclear. Their children Elizabeth and Patience were listed as living with them, but the children's names are given as Bettine Deans and Virginia Deans and their mother's name as Nancy.^9,10
