Isabella Williamson Campbell was born at Hill of Beath Colliery in Beath, Fife, on 17 December 1869. She was the daughter of John CAMPBELL (coal miner) and Janet WILLIAMSON, who were married in Dalgety on 28 Apr 1854.2,3
She married James McKechie, son of James McKechie and Margaret Tanner, at Hill of Beath Hall in Beath, Fife, on 1 January 1900.1
She was listed in the 1901 census at Woodend Place in Beath, Fife, with her husband James; he was a brickmaker.2
She left London on 22 August 1912 on board the 'Tongariro' with her husband James, accompanied by Janet Lockhart Williamson, Margaret Tanner and James. They arrived in Wellington before trans-shipping to Westport, travelling with the family of James' brother Thomas.4
She was widowed at age 72 on the death of her husband James on 5 June 1942.5,6
She was appointed executrix of James McKechie's estate in Westport on 11 February 1943, with John Henry EVANS (billiard saloon proprietor) and Allan Andrew Grainger KERR (blacksmith) standing surety for a bond of £500.6
