Arthur Morell Spencer was born in New Zealand on 23 March 1901.1

He arrived in Southampton, Hampshire, on 27 April 1932 on the Orsova, probably having joined the ship in Sydney, after leaving New Zealand in search of better job prospects in England. He gave his occupation as Engineer.2

He married Marguerite Stringer in Chester?, Cheshire, on 4 August 1939.

He was listed in the 1939 Register at 64 Otley Drive in Ilford, Essex, with Marguerite Stringer; he was an electrical engineer and they were living with another engineer, one Samuel F M WILDE, a fellow New Zealander and family friend.3

He and his wife Marguerite left London for New Zealand on 11 February 1949 on the Rangitiki.

Arthur died on 13 October 1983 in Auckland at age 82.4,5 He was cremated at the Purewa Cemetery on 14 October 1983.5
