Annie Heath Martin Insull was born at Artillery Rd in Devonport, Auckland, on 2 March 1888. According to SPENCER family lore, she did not use the name 'Annie' as she disliked it, and when her mother re-married she took the SPENCER name and suppressed the step-relationship.1,2

Annie died on 2 November 1966 in Auckland at age 78.3,4 She was buried on 4 November 1966 at the Purewa Cemetery.4

James Martin Insull1

James's birth was registered between July 1862 and September 1862 in Bedford, Bedfordshire.1

He married Lucy Charlotte Nutter, daughter of Frederick Nutter and Eliza Heath Macdonald, at her father's residence in Auckland on 13 April 1887.2,3,4

He signed a will dated 21 April 1887 in Auckland, in which he named his wife Lucy as executrix and beneficiary of his estate, except for land at 40 & 42 Offa St, Bedford, Bedfordshire. He bequeathed this property to his aunt Emily Owen, wife of the Rev. George Owen, who was a missionary in Peking.5

James died on 19 March 1888 in Devonport, Auckland.6,7,5 He was buried on 21 March 1888 at the North Shore Cemetery in Mt Victoria.7,8

His will was probated in Auckland on 13 April 1888 with Lucy Charlotte Nutter appointed executrix.5
