Florence Susannah Jackson1

(1875 - 1969)
Florence Susannah Jackson was born in Chippenham, Wiltshire, on 30 January 1875.1,2

Florence's marriage to John Colclough was registered between July 1897 and September 1897 in Paddington, London, Middlesex.3

She had a defacto relationship with Percy William Carney from circa 1899 and although there were 4 children from the relationship, there is no evidence of a real marriage.

Florence's second marriage was to William Edward Hasler on 4 October 1908 at St Anne's Church, Hoxton in Shoreditch, London. She used her married name of Colclough and claimed to be a widow; he gave his occupation as 'Dealer'. This marriage was almost certainly bigamous, as there is no evidence of a divorce from her first husband, who lived on until 1946. It is also notable that Percy Carney, father of four of her children, signed the register at this wedding!4
She was listed in the 1921 census with Ernest Austin Rust at 13 Gladstone Bldgs in Shoreditch, London, Middlesex, and claimed to be his wife, although they were not married until 1928.5

Florence's third marriage was to Ernest Austin Rust, son of James Rust and Eliza Snow, between October 1928 and December 1928 in Rochford, Essex. This was also bigamous as both of her first two husbands were alive for many years afterwards, as was his first wife.6

She was widowed at age 57 on the death of her husband Ernest on 9 May 1932.7,8

She was appointed executrix of Ernest Austin Rust's estate in London on 23 March 1933.7

Florence's fourth marriage was to Bertram Beaumont between April 1934 and June 1934 in Poplar, London, Middlesex. Although her third husband (Ernest Rust) had now died, both of her first two husbands we still alive, so this marriage also appears bigamous.9

She was listed in the 1939 Register at Commercial Wharf House in Poplar, London, Middlesex, with Bertram Beaumont; he was a timber merchant's gate-keeper.2

She was widowed at age 78 on the death of her husband Bertram on 24 August 1953.10,11

She was appointed executrix of Bertram Beaumont's estate in London on 3 November 1953.11

Florence's fifth marriage was to Edward Martin between April 1955 and June 1955 in East Ham, Essex.12

She was widowed on the death of her husband Edward between October 1955 and December 1955.13

Florence's death was registered between January 1969 and March 1969 in Waltham Forest, Essex.14
