He married Laura Elva Tussing in Franklin, Ohio, on 23 October 1884.3

He was listed in the 1910 US census as head of the family at 1596 East Main St in Columbus, Franklin, Ohio, with his wife Laura; he was a lawyer in general practice, living in a house with no mortgage (so presumably owned). Their child Florence was listed as living with them, as were William's mother Catherine Marlow and their daughter's husband Henry Knapp Harrington.1

William died on 7 July 1927 in Ohio at age 73.2 He was buried on 9 July 1927 at the Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus.4
