Albert Edward John Watts was born in Toowoomba, Queensland, on 18 May 1864.²

He married Bessy Collins, daughter of Henry Collins and Margaret Stevenson, at Registrar's Office in Sth Brisbane, Queensland, on 3 March 1896. Albert claimed to be 33, though actually he was only 31 and Bessy was probably about 25, not 23 as claimed.³

Albert died on 17 January 1938 in Brisbane, Queensland, at age 73.⁴

Frances Mary (Nance) Watts was born in Invercargill, Southland, on 30 August 1913.¹
