Frances' father was Edward Craig STUART, the Bishop of Waiapu from 1877 to 1894 and his brother became Sir Alexander STUART, a former Premier of NSW.1
She married Marsden Clarke, son of George Clarke and Martha Elizabeth Blomfield, in New Zealand in 1878.1,2,3
She was widowed on the death of her husband Marsden on 10 May 1889.4,1
Frances died on 6 July 1925 in Auckland.5,6 She was buried on 9 July 1925 at the Purewa Cemetery.7

George Stuart
(c 1851 - 1934)
George Stuart was born in Ross and Cromarty circa 1851.1
George left Scotland about in 1872 as his son George's Army papers claim he had been in New Zealand for about 44 years.1
He married Elsie Isabella Cumming, daughter of George Cumming and Elizabeth Ross, at Pine Vew in Faiirfax, Southland, on 1 January 1889.2,3,4
In August 1907 he bought the Brooksdale Estate near Tapanui, reported as being "one of the finest estates in Otago", a property of 2247 acres with homestead and outbuildings plus 3700 crossbred sheep and 177 cattle.5
George died on 21 July 1934 in Dunedin, Otago.6,7 He was buried on 22 July 1934 at the Anderson's Bay Cemetery.8

He enlisted in the New Zealand Army (#54167),in the 28th Reinforcements of the 2nd Battalion (Otago Regmt) on 2 December 1916.1
He served with D Company of the 28th before being transferred to the 4th Reserve Battalion, Canterbury Regmt on 24 September 1917 then proceeding to France in Nov 1917. He saw service at Ypres and Passchendale and was wounded several times before his eventual discharge on 29 Mar 1919.1
George died in 1994 in New Zealand.3

In evidence Henry stated that after the birth of their third child on 29 Aug 1888, she had become colder to him; after becoming suspicious and confronting her in September last she had admitted to having been unfaithful 'for some years' and that the fourth child was not Henry's.
Mr Justice Conolly of the Supreme Court granted a decree nisi with the right to apply for a decree absolute in three months.
Note that according to the NZ Birth Index, the six children of Henry and Evelyn were Violet Evelyn (1883), Hylda Mabel Rose (1884), Kenneth Lionel (1886), Norman Vincent (1888), Henry Laurence (1889), Hayward Blencowe (1890), meaning Norman's father was not actually Henry.7,6
