Alexander Chalmers was born circa 1854. (Birth date based on age at marriage).
He married Jean (Jane) McColl, daughter of Dugald McColl and Cathrine Sinclair, at 54 Plantation St in Govan, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, on 16 December 1881. There were no children from this marriage.1
Alexander died on 16 January 1903 at 46 Plantation St in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, of locomotor ataxia. The informant was his brother-in-law.2

Charles Edward Chandler was born in Holborn, London, Middlesex, on 9 June 1917. He was the son of Thomas and Sophia Chandler.3,2,4 He was baptised at St Pauls in Islington, Clerkenwell St Peter, Middlesex, on 1 July 1917.2
He was listed in the 1921 census at 13 Northampton St in Finsbury, London, Middlesex, with his widowed mother Sophia (a french polisher) and siblings Lilian (18, also a french polisher), Thomas (16, a mill hand at a cabinet maker), Eliza (12), Rose (9), James (6) and Christopher (10 mths).5
